Intensive/Extensive Cartography
Farah Momin received her M.A. in Media Studies from The New School in December 2011. She currently works as a freelance social media manager for two clients: Applied Brilliance, a conference organization with innovative speakers from architecture, design, science, and technology; and Savage Senses, a newly launched socially conscious fashion start-up dedicated to creating a culture of water. While studying at The New School, Farah worked as a research assistant to Professor Trebor Scholz in the Culture and Media Studies department at Eugene Lang College on such projects as the publication of Learning Through Digital Media (iDC 2011) and The Internet as Playground and Factory (Nov. 2009) and MobilityShifts (Oct. 2011), the first two installments in a series of three conferences on the Politics of Digital Culture. In addition to independent bookstores in New York City, Farah is currently obsessed with researching Alan Turing’s prep school library records, and she just might have to revisit the newly formed desire to go back to school for her PhD in a couple of years.
